Doris S. Favinger of Easton, MD died on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at UMSMC at Easton. She was 93. She was born July 12, 1920 in Cambridge, MD, the daughter of the late, Ralph and Lena Weber Grupe.
After graduating from high school, she married William “Nick” Favinger on February 18, 1939. Throughout her life she was a loving homemaker. She was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She served as president from 1980-1982 for the Ladies of the Elks Lodge # 1622. She enjoyed volunteering at the Cambridge Salvation Army Thrift Store. She loved making floral wreaths, flower arrangements, quilting and most of all being with her family.
She is survived by three children, Bill Favinger (Ginger), Pat Parks (Ellis) and Melinda Lapres (Tim Ewing); six grandchildren, Jeff Parks, Carole Ann Clem, Nick Lapres, Corey Lapres, Shelley Chance and Michael Favinger; seven great-grandchildren, Adam Parks, Seth Parks, Graydon Clem, Allison Clem, Ashley Chance, Heather Chance and Caitlin Chance; four step-grandchildren, Sean, Jeff, Pat and Kathleen; a sister, Norma Lee Burton of Cambridge and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William N. Favinger who died in 1997; infant son, Michael A. Favinger in 1956; two sisters, Helen Kincaid and Carolyn Marine.
A funeral liturgy will be held at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Easton on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 10 am. Friends may call on Friday evening at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A., Easton, from 6 to 8 pm.
Burial will be at Spring Hill Cemetery.
