Fannie W. Sollenberger, 91, of 2075 Scotland Ave., died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at Menno Haven in Chambersburg.
Born Nov. 3, 1906, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin L. and Nancy Wingert Musser.
Her first husband, Martin L. Oberholser, died in 1934. They were married Nov. 11, 1926.
Her second husband, Amos E. Sollenberger, died in 1954. They were married March 6, 1948.
She was employed as housekeeper at the former Penn Hall School in Chambersburg, retiring in 1971. She formerly worked for Shirtcraft Co. and H.J. Heinz Co. She was housekeeper for the Wood family in Chambersburg for 18 years.
She was a lifetime member of Mount Rock Brethren in Christ Church in Shippensburg, Pa., where she was a Sunday school and vacation Bible school teacher, and a member of Women's Missionary Sewing Auxiliary. She also served on the building committee for the new church in 1975, and on the Cheer Up Committee.
She was known for the quilts she made.
She is survived by one daughter, Anna Mae Oberholser of Chambersburg; one stepdaughter, Esther M. Hippensteele; three grandchildren, Beverly W. Sollenberger of Tinton Falls, N.J., Dennis E. Wenger of Chambersburg, and Dale E. Wenger of Huntingdon Valley, Pa.; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Ruth O. Wenger; one stepdaughter, Ruth S. Mellott; and two stepsons, Irvin Sollenberger and Joseph Sollenberger.
Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Rock Brethren in Christ Church, 22 Mount Rock Road, Shippensburg. The Rev. Roger N. Witter will officiate. Burial will be in Air Hill Cemetery in Greene Township, Pa.
A viewing will be at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg, today from 7 to 9 p.m.; and at the church one hour prior to the service.
