Wilma Mae Engelhardt, 97, of Colorado for 91 years and a 3 month resident in Richland, passed away September 13, 2015 at her home with her son & family by her side.
She was born October 14, 1917 in Rankine, IL. Wilma lived in her first 6years in Paxton, IL and moved to Denver, CO for her sister’s health. She graduated from South High School in Denver, CO.
Wilma was a member of the Eastern Star Daughters AM Rev.; Women’s Variance Club, Indian club, the church choir, and Jolly “J”. She volunteered for AM Red Cross for 20yrs, Gatec Clinic, the Denver Museum and the Indian Artifacts. Wilma was recognized for her volunteer throughout the years. She also worked for a short time in a stamp collection store.
Wilma married her husband, H. Kenneth Engelhardt in 1940. She was proud to have their 50th anniversary. Wilma enjoyed reading, gardening, handwork, sewing and camping.
Wilma is survived by her son, Kenneth L. Engelhardt and Mary; grandchildren, Paige Heydon, Michele (Blase) Dillman, Angela Engelhardt, Kris Raley (Jim) and Kenneth K. Engelhardt. She is also survived by her eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister; her husband, Ken; daughter, Carolyn Heydon and son, Stephen Engelhardt.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Bethel Church in Richland, WA on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 2:00pm.
A second service will be held in Denver, CO. The funeral service will be held at Spirit of Hope on October 3, 2015 with burial to follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
