Funeral services for Lou E. Rudolf of Archer were held at the Salem Evangelical United Brethren church in Grand Island at 2 p.m. Friday of last week. Mr. Rudolf died Monday afternoon of last week of a heart attack while hunting near Gillette, Wyoming.
The services were conducted by Rev. Dale Ammon of Grand Island, assisted by Rev. J. H. Oehlerking of Archer. Mr. Rudolf was a member of the Archer E.U.B. church. Burial was in the city cemetery west of Grand Island. Many relatives and friends of Palmer and Archer communities attended the funeral service. All the brothers and sisters were present.
Mr. and Mrs. Rudolf had left their home near Archer last spring and had spent the summer in the state of Washington and in Canada. They were headed toward home and had stopped at Gillette, Wyo., for a few days deer hunting. Mr. Rudolf was stricken when out about ten miles from town.
Mr. Rudolf was born near Archer February 16, 1899, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Rudolf. He was married to Meta Fuehrer June 3, 1920 at Archer. The family farmed near Archer until he retired in 1943.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Wesley Ita, Grand Island, and Mrs. John Harris, Plainfield, Illinois; one brother, August Rudolf of Palmer; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Rembolt, Chapman, Mrs. Lillian Winebrenner, Oseo, Minn., Mrs. Ella Wadsworth, Grand Island, and Mrs. Louis Sautter of Scotia; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
