      1. obituary of Martha Philbrick. "Martha Philbrick
      A memorial service for Mrs. Joseph (Martha) Philbrick of 807 W. Ninth will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Apfel-Butler-Geddes chapel.
      Burial will be in the Cairo Cemetery.
      Visitation hours were to be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home.
      Mrs. Philbrick died Wednesday in a Grand Island Hospital.
      She was born April 24, 1892, on a farm home in Sherman County northwest of Boelus, the daughter of Frank and Pauline Dulitz Thienel.
      Her entire life was spent in Nebraska except for a few years as a child when the family resided in Wisconsin.
      She was married to Joseph Philbrick on Oct. 1, 1921, at Grand Island. They first resided in Arlington, then at Polk before coming to Grand Island in 1926.
      Mrs Philbrick was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and was a charter member of the Wesleyan Sunday School class. She had been active in church work until failing health forced her to curtail such activities.
      Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs Robert (Esther) Reitz of Wheeling W. Va., and Mrs Eugene (Helen) Thompson of Tulsa, Okla.; one son Leonard of Clay Center; a brother, Ben of Grand Island and three grandchildren.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter and two brothers.
      The family suggests memorials to the Trinity United Methodist Church.".
