FAIRFIELD - Myrl Leroy Cook of Fairfield died November 8, 2001 at Rose Brook Skilled Services of Edgar at the age of 90.
Funeral services were held November 13, 2001 at Community Presbyterian Church in Fairfield with the Reverend Lloyd Boyce officiating. Interment was in the Fairfield Cemetery.
Music was provided by Ruth Watts, soloist, Jan Watts, accompanist and Deloris Schliep, organist.
Pallbearers were Harry Kreissler, Gordon Hoins, Joe Peshek, Clarence Schliep, Robert Hoins and Ed Drudik.
Honorary pallbearers were Jon Dumler, Gary Bulin, Gerald Palmer, Orvis Peshek and Dave Fehl.
Myrl was born November 29, 1910 to Lawrence E and Ora V (Trobrough) Cook near Clay Center. He attended West Buffalo country school near Fairfield and graduated from the Fairfield High School in the class of 1929.
Myrl worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 33 years. He was a section foreman and then in maintenance for them.
On June 9, 1965 he was united in marriage to Helen Koci in Fairfield.
Myrl was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church, past member of the Odd Fellows of Fairfield before it disbanded, past city council member and past church board member. He also belonged to different square dancing groups over the past 27 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife Helen of Fairfield; daughter Sharlyn Christopher of Placentia, CA; step-daughters Alleen Ernst of Magnolia, TX and Diann Gentry of Fairfield; sons Don of Moreno Valley, CA, Dick of San Antonio, TX, Harry Russell of Waynesboro, PA, and step-sons Gary Karnatz of Grand Island, Jerry Karnatz of Schuyler and Lyle Karnatz of Edgar; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Myrl heiratete Koci, Helen Harriett am 9 Jun 1965 in Fairfield, Clay County, Nebraska, USA.
