    Lee Thomas Allen, 86, a former resident of East Wenatchee, died Tuesday, May 11, 1999 at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
    He was born on May 30, 1912 at Sparks, OK to William and Mable (Wilcox) Allen. As a youth he lived in Coeur d'Alene, ID, Heartline and Monitor.
    He graduated from Cashmere High School in 1931 and then went to work on the Icicle Irrigation Ditch during the early 30s. In 1935 and 1936, he worked construction on the Grand Coulee Dam Powerhouse. He began driving truck for Consolidated Freightway in 1939 and for Associated Grocers in 1948 until his retirement in 1975. During his career as a truck driver, he received several awards for his safe driving record.
    He married Anne Schorzman at Quincy, in April of 1941. They were married for 31 years and raised three daughters. Anne died in 1972. In 1978, he married Mary Fran Beucler.
    Lee was a devoted husband and father. He enjoyed golfing, reading, fishing and vacationing in Hawaii and Arizona. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wenatchee.
    Lee is survived by his wife, Mary Fran Allen of Wenatchee; daughters, Barbara Lentz of Pullman, Toni Lawrence of Bothell, and Becky Chaussee of Reno, NV; stepdaughters, Mary Ann Warren of Wenatchee and Carolyn Martin of Sacramento, CA; four grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anne Schorzman-Allen in 1972, one brother, two sisters and his parents.
    A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, May 13, 1999 at the Cashmere City Cemetery in Cashmere at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Bob Shepard officiating. Viewing will be Wednesday, May 12, 1999 at Braun Funeral Home in Cashmere from 4-8 p.m.
    For those friends that wish, memorials may be made in Lee's name to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Research Fund.
    Braun Funeral Home of Cashmere is handling arrangements.
