To the worshipful Court of Halifax County in Chancery setting humbly complaining thereunto your worships your Orators and Oratrices Meredith Conally and Sally his wife, Polley Tune, Joshua Tune, Thomas Tune, William S. Tune, Kester T. Tune, Judith Tune, Jonathan Tune, Willie Tune, David Tune and Elizabeth Tune; which said Thomas, William S., Kester T., Judith, Jonathan, Willie, David & Elizabeth are infants and sue by their next friend the said Meredith Conally: that William Tune late of the County of Halifax aforesaid has departed this life intestate, seised of a tract or parcel of land containing about two hundred acres, some slaves and other personal estate: That your Orators and Oratrices and a certain Demarcus Tune are the children, heirs and distributees of the said decedent, who left also a widow Lurana Tune surviving him.
Lurana was seen last on the 1870 census in Bedford County, Tennessee living with her youngest, Elizabeth Tune McAdams. Research in Bedford County has yet to show her date of death or location of burial.

Thomas Scurlock was born 1754 in Halifax County, Virginia to John Joshua Scurlock and his first wife Miss Adams.
Thomas had a sister named Agnes who was born before their father remarried Elizabeth Norman (his second wife). There is no information on what became of Thomas's mother Miss Adams-Scurlock. It is known that Thomas Scurlock married Judith Ferguson (who was born 1758 in North Carolina), 1773, in Halifax Virginia.
Judith was the daughter of Nimrod Ferguson and Rebecca Hudson.
Thomas and Judith lived their entire lives in the area around Halifax County, Virginia. Very little is known about Thomas and his wife Judith but their children were some of the first of the Scurlock families to migrate westward to America. In 1782 Census for head of Households, Thomas was shown living with six people, probably his wife and their first five children which included.
