Melvin Willard Schlepp, 83, St. Francis, died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at Good Samaritan, Goodland.
He was born Dec. 9, 1928, in Cheyenne County.
He was a farmer/rancher.
Survivors include his wife, Louise (Kamla) Schlepp, St. Francis; two sons, Spencer Schlepp and Mitchell Schlepp, both of St. Francis; two daughters, Susan Schlepp, Denver, and Tammy Granowski, New York, New York; five sisters, Jeanette Bracelin, Goodland, Mildred Barnhart and Gladys Cook, both of St. Francis, Betty Milan, Aurora, Colo., and Delphine Jeter, Hurricane, W.Va.; and four grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, St. Francis; burial in St. Francis Cemetery with military honors by Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Vistation will be from 1 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, both at Knodel Funeral Home, St. Francis.
Memorials are suggested to the church, Cheyenne County Hospital or Cheyenne County EMT in care of the funeral home.

Funeral services for Maizie Fink, age 64, of Livingston, MT; formerly of Hettinger, ND; will be 2:00pm Saturday, December 10, at the Hettinger Lutheran Church. Pastor Kathleen Dettmann will officiate with burial in the Hettinger Cemetery.
A family service will be held at 7:00pm on Friday evening at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger.
A memorial service will also be held at 1:30pm on Tuesday, December 13, at the American Lutheran Church in Livingston, MT with Pastor Peggy Leuzinger, officiating.
Serving as Honorary Casketbearers are Julie Fink, Kristen Fink, Jessie Dotson, Beth Honeyman, and Chancey Fink. Active Casketbearers are Jason Fink, Matthew Honeyman, Devan Fink, Cooper Fink, Russell Miller, Dan Engraf and Wayne Engraf.
Maizie Jean Stenberg was born March 16, 1941 to Gerhard (Gay) and Minnie (Goplin) Stenberg at New England, ND. She received her education at the Hettinger Public School. On November 10, 1957, she was united in marriage to Edwin Fink at Hettinger. Four children, Todd, Lisa, Ed, and Trent were born to this union. Edwin and Maizie were engaged in farming in Perkins County, SD south of Reeder and then in Adams County, ND north of Hettinger.
Maizie was well known in the community for her cooking skills, most notably at the Hettinger Sale Barn.
Following the sale of their farm in 1978, Edwin and Maizie purchased a motel and moved to Livingston, MT. They were active member of the business community with a taxi service and sewing store as well. Maizie worked for Big Sky Resort and earned a Montana Realtor's License. Following Edwin's death, she opened her home to foster children. She will be long remembered for her generous spirit, tremendous work ethic, and magnificent laugh.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Livingston, MT, Son's of Norway Lodge, and the Montana Innkeepers Association.
Maizie passed from this life on December 7, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Dickinson, ND, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Maizie is survived by her children, Todd (Brenda) Fink, Prairie City, SD; Lisa (Rolan) Honeyman, Dickinson, ND; Ed (Sina) Fink, Glendive, MT; and Trent Fink, Livingston, MT; nine grandchildren, sister, LaVone (Ted) Kent, Oregon City, OR; sister-in-law, Norma Erickson, Hettinger, ND; brother-in-law, Wilbert (Arlene) Fink, Belle Fourche, SD; sister-in-law, Delores Warrick, Spearfish, SD; uncle, Julius Goplin, Hettinger, ND; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Maizie was blessed to have a number of good friends that supported her through her many challenges. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gerald (Gussy); her husband, Edwin; and her nephew, John Kent. Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 to 7:00pm; Saturday, 9:00am to 12:00 noon at the Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger and one hour prior to services at the Hettinger Lutheran Church. Mother of screen actress Marguerite De La Motte. Nellie was died as the result of an automobile accident - her husband Joseph survived the accident. Afterwards Marguerite and brother were taken in guardianship by movie producer J.L. Frothingham. Frothingham is interred at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, CA. (It is not known where Joseph De La Motte is buried.) (Some reports say Joseph was killed in the auto with Nellie however, he does show up in the 1920 US Census.)

WAYNESBORO -- Henry H. Shockey, 70, of 15937 Hollowell Church Road, was pronounced dead at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, in the emergency room of Waynesboro Hospital. Death was unexpected and attributed to a heart attack. Born June 3, 1933, in Ringgold, Md., he was a son of the late Ralph and Mildred Pittman Shockey. He lived his early life in the Ringgold area. A member of Welty Church of the Brethren, Smithsburg, Md., he served as the church treasurer and deacon and was presently serving on the church board and was past chairman of the board. Mr. Shockey graduated from Smithsburg High School in 1952. He and his wife, Hazel B. Berrey Shockey, were married on Aug. 4, 1957, in Hagerstown, MD. They moved to the present residence in 1991. Prior to the military, he worked for Landis Tool Co., Waynesboro, in the stock room. Following his discharge from the military, he returned to Landis, and prior to retiring after 43 years of service, he worked in the purchasing department. Served U.S. Army (Korean conflict). Member of Appalachian Gold Classic Car Club, he enjoyed having and working on classic cars. Surviving are: wife, Hazel; daughter, Cindy Martin of Waynesboro; son, Michael of Waynesboro; and three grandchildren. Preceded in death: grandson, Kenneth Shockey, who died Dec. 3, 2003; brother, Leroy; infant sister, Cora Shockey.

Ann Howard Stoehr, 70, of Eddyville, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011, at her residence in Eddyville surrounded by family and friends. Mrs. Stoehr retired from ATO-FINA Chemical Plant in Calvert City as an engineering secretary with 20 years of service. She was a member of Eddyville United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Gene Stoehr Sr.; one son, Brad Hunt and his wife Elizabeth of Iuka; one daughter, Kristi Spedding and her husband Rob of Eddyville; and the delights of her life, her two grandchildren, granddaughter, Carlyann Spedding and grandson, Connor Spedding, both of Eddyville. Other survivors include a brother, John Howard and his wife Becky of Eddyville; a cousin, Ronnie Marshall and his wife Ruth of Marion, Ky.; and several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlon and Ruby Marshall Howard. Services were scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Lakeland Funeral Home Chapel in Eddyville with the Rev. Jack Larwa officiating. Burial followed at the Dycusburg Cemetery in Dycusburg, Ky.

Albert Waldow, 89, of Miles City, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Holy Rosary Healthcare, 14 days short of his 90th birthday.
Mr. Waldow was born in Miles City on May 26, 1917, the son of Ernst and Amelia Zibell Waldow. He attended schools in Miles City.
He and Lydia Ohlhauser were married in Miles City on June 15, 1941. After being employed by the Milwaukee Railroad, Mr. Waldow was employed by Glen's Standard Service Station for 15 years. He then went full time with the Milwaukee Railroad before retiring in 1980.
During the 1950s, Mr. Waldow helped construct the Holy Rosary Hospital. Following their retirement, Mr. and Mrs. Waldow built their home, along with helping build their children's homes and taking care of their rental.
Mr. Waldow enjoyed working on a variety of projects and taking long walks. His family enjoyed his sense of humor and his "nonsense songs" he would make up and especially the support and love he gave his family.
His survivors include his wife, Lydia; son, Stanley J., his wife D'Arlyn, their son Ryan and his wife Michelle and their daughters Juliann, Kayla and Erin all of Longview, Texas; daughter Donna J. Flanigan and her husband Jake of Miles City, their daughters Shelley and her husband Michael Kilbon of Loveland, Colo., and Jolane Flanigan and her husband Gordon Chase and their daughter Adeline of Greenfield, Ma.; daughter Sandra F. Danforth and her husband Dennis, their daughter Dana R. and son Steven M. and his son Dakota B. all of Carson City, Nev.; daughter Linda J. Edwards and husband Dennis, their son Curtis his wife Donya and their sons Joshua, Michael, Zachery and Ryan; daughter Carrie Crow her husband Travis and their sons Tyler and Tanner of Reno, Nev.; daughter Christy Edwards and her fiancé Jeffrey Veradt of Reno, Nev.; and daughter Nancy A. Seright and husband Sandy their daughter Brook and son Brett all of Post Falls, Idaho.
Mr. Waldow was preceded in death by his parents, Emelia and Ernst Waldow; a grandson, baby Danforth; a granddaughter, Staci Waldow; and 15 brothers and sisters.
The family received friends on Friday, May 18, 2007, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Stevenson and Sons Funeral Home in Miles City.
Funeral services were on Saturday, May 19, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miles City.
Interment followed in the Custer County Cemetery.
