Edith Stroklund, 89, Kenmare, ND, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010, in a Kenmare Hospital.
Edith M. McIntosh was born August 16, 1921, a daughter of John and Annie (Stroklund) McIntosh, on the family farm located in Carbondale Township of Ward County, ND. She was raised and educated in Donnybrook and graduated from Donnybrook High School.
Edith married Alvin Stroklund September 7, 1939, in Plentywood, MT. They made their home on a farm located in Baden Township of Ward Country, near Kenmare, ND. Together they farmed and raised cattle.
Alvin passed away September 22, 1990. Following the death of her husband, she continued to reside on the farm until September of 2005, when she moved into Kenmare.
She was a member of United Methodist Church in Kenmare.
Edith loved her birds and participated in many winter bird counts in the Kenmare area. She was an avid gardener and participated in many Kenmare Garden Club events. She loved playing cards with her local card group, and had spent many hours of her life quilting many years until she lost her eyesight.
Surviving family includes: sister, Myrtle (Ed) Foster, Rochester, MN; brother-in-law, Harold (Laverna) Stroklund, Minot; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alvin; three infant brothers; an infant sister; and brothers, Robert, Allen, and Kenneth McIntosh;
Funeral: Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at United Methodist Church, Donnybrook.
Interment: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND, in the spring of 2011.
Visitation: Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Prayer Service: Sunday at 7 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Jeffrey Fleming, 48, of Mount Vernon, WA passed away on December 27, 2010.
Jeff was born in Mount Vernon to parents, Leo and Shirley Fleming on September 26, 1962.
Jeff was raised in Conway and Mount Vernon. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1981.
Jeff worked for many years for The Fishing Company in Alaska. Jeff often talked about how much he enjoyed working out on the boats. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors, camping, reading and fishing, doing anything he could to help family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his father, Leo Fleming; sisters Linda Dills, Robin and Tom Claybo, Mickey and Mike Hammer, Judy and Brady Bacon. Niece and nephews, Serena, Adam, Travis, Patrick, Anthony, Joe, Jeffrey, Zachary and Kevin. 1 great-nephew and 3 great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Fleming, brother Brian Fleming, grandparents Emus and Gertrude Larson and grandparents Leo and Wilma Fleming.
Jeff you have a wonderful heart and soul and will truly be missed. We love you!
A gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at 3301 Apache Dr., Mount Vernon.

Judith A. Childers, 67, of Dixon, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010, at Dixon Health-care and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Childers was born June 2, 1943, in Coleta, the daughter of Marvin and Margaret (Overholser) Carbaugh.
Survivors include two sons, Rusty (Jeni) Childers and Rand (Dina Garland) Childers; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Sharon Rolofson; and one brother, Bob Carbaugh.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Coleta United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Nancy Weingartner of Wesley United Methodist Church, Sterling, officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Milledgeville. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
Arrangements were completed by Schilling Funeral Home, Sterling.
A memorial has been established.

Doris Lillian Bergey, 98, of New Haven, MO, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016 at New Haven Care Center.
Doris was born in West Point, Iowa on March 14, 1917, the daughter of the late Willis & Estella (Seyb) Wharton.
She was the widow of Rev. August E. Bergey. They were married on October 17, 1943, at Franklin, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 5, 1994.
Doris was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship and the church choir. As the wife of a minister, Doris was very involved with the church and many church activities. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, baking & cooking, fishing, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and traveling. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a beautician.
Doris is survived by a son Barry Bergey & wife Jean of Bethesda, Maryland, by three daughters, Colleen Kuhn & husband Gary of New Haven, Missouri; Brenda Thompson & husband Jan of Moberly, Missouri; and Christine Meyer & husband Eric of New Haven, Missouri; by a sister, Alta Kinman of New Haven, Missouri; by four grandsons, Matthew Bergey; Cullen Kuhn & wife Christa, Clayton Kuhn & wife Emily, and Aaron Thompson & wife Kavita; by four granddaughters, Claire Bergey; Ann Matkovic & husband Michael, Melissa Malcolm & husband Artaz, and Sarah Neidenthal & husband Flint; by great-grandchildren, Maiya & Lydia Kuhn, Harper Matkovic, Kaleia, AyDon & Aria Malcolm and Walker Neidenthal. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home, New Haven, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Haven, with Rev. David Poe officiating.
Burial will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, New Haven, Missouri.
Memorials may be given to St. Peters U.C.C. C/O Toedtmann & Grosse Funeral Home.

ELDA L. CLINGMAN, 100, passed away Sept. 17, 2010, at Casa de Sonshine Assisted Living in Green Valley.
Born in Herreid, S.D. on Sept. 10, 1910, she was formerly from Sioux Falls, S.D. and had lived in Green Valley for the past 14 years.
Elda graduated from McClusky High in McClusky, N.D., the eldest of eight children. She helped support the family during the Depression, working as a rural telephone operator and as a deputy to her father, who was the sheriff of Sheridan County.
She attended business school in Mitchell, S.D. in 1938, and worked as a bookkeeper and executive secretary at KELO Radio and Television in Sioux Falls.
Elda was active in the United Methodist Church in Sioux Falls and Avondale, Mo. and was a member of the Green Valley Community Church.
Elda and her husband Ray retired in 1974, and enjoyed spending winters in Alice, Texas playing golf. When Ray passed away in 1995,she moved to Green Valley, where she enjoyed new friends in the bridge clubs she loved so much.
Elda was preceded in death by her husband Ray Clingman; and her parents Margaret and William Hirning.
She is survived by her daughter Peggy (Jim) Pierce of Green Valley; grandson Patrick (Kristin) Pierce and great-granddaughter Samantha of Arvada, Colo. Also surviving is sister Dorothy Krutman of Oroville, Calif.
There will be no local memorial service. Ashes will be inurned with her husband at a private ceremony in Sioux Falls.

Denelda "Nell" E. Ackerman, 78, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska. Nell was born February 27, 1932 to Harry P. & Sarah E. (Mortimore) Callan in Stockville, Nebraska.
Nell attended Hastings High School. Nell married Wilbert "Willie" H. Ackerman on July 20, 1948. Nell was bookkeeper for the family businesses, a homemaker and an excellent cook. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with her family; the fun times spent with her friends and she valued the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughters.
Nell was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Devona Becker; brother, Harold "Cal" Callan; and son-in-law, Galen Berney.

Charles Phillip Muhlenberg was born at Lancaster, Pa. Nov 24, 1838, fifth son of Dr. F.A. Muhlenberg. His education was begun at home, but he attended the common schools of his native city, and in 1853 entered the sophomore class at Pennsylvania College, Gettysburg, graduating from that institution in 1856.
He bagan the study of law with Nathaniel Ellmaker, Esq.,of
Lancaster, and concluded his legal studies in the office of L. Pringle Jones, being admitted to the Berks County bar in 1859, from which time until the opening of the Civil War, he practiced his proffession in Reading. In April 1861 he became a member of the Ringgold Light Artillery. The following month he was commissiomned as an officer of artillery during the whole of the war. He received the brevet of captain for services in the Peninsular campaign; received the brevet of major for gallant conduct at the battle of Antietam; was in the campaign of the wilderness and of Petersburg under General Grant, and resigned from the Army at the close of 1867 to resume the practice of his profession in Reading. He died in January 1872, at the early age of thirty-four years.

Martha N. Mumma, 93, of Quentin, died on Thursday, January 13,2011 at Lebanon Valley Brethren Home, Palmyra.
She was born on April 11, 1917 in Donegal Twp. to the late Jacob and Annie Williams nee Neidig. She was the wife of the late Levi H. Mumma, who passed away on August 23, 1996.
She was a member of Midway Church of the Brethren. She loved music and enjoyed playing the piano and organ. She also enjoyed crocheting and was an avid Phillies fan. She had a great love for children.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters; Rosella, wife of John (Jack) McCormack of Georgia, Robert, husband of Delores (Sattazahan) of Quentin, Levi, husband of Marie (Wine) of Manheim and Dolores, wife of Peter Seibert of Quentin. There are 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is alos urvived by a sister Delilah, wife of Harry Emenheiser of Mount Joy. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings Elizabeth, Sara, Mary, Jake, Ira, Aaron, Ann and Esther.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 from 10-11AM at Midway Church of the Brethren, Lebanon.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011 at 11:00AM at the church. Burial will be at Midway Brethren Cemetery following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Midway Church of the Brethren, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon, PA 17042.

Mrs. Frank Thompson (Jacqueline Hoskins) died Monday, March 8th, while on her way to the hospital in Superior from her home in Byron. She was 44 years of age. She was the daughter of Mrs. Ethel Hoskins and Charles Hoskins. Her childhood was spent in Guide Rock.
The funeral was scheduled for Thursday afternoon, March 10th at Superior with burial in the Guide Rock cemetery. She is survived by her husband, one daughter (Mary) Mrs. David Sugars of Byron, her mother and father, Ethel and Charles Hoskins, a twin brother Jack of Phoenix, Arizona and a half sister, Mrs. Mike Sharp of Tempe, Arizona.
