LeRoy Payton peacefully passed away at 12:06 A.M. on 20 February 2017, at the age of 81, after a long stay in intensive care at the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, NV with a heart valve problem. His Mother, Father, his son Lenny and his brother Gary preceded him in death. He is survived by his son Billy and former wife Sandy, two brothers, Larry and Donald, and a sister, Pauline.

Arline June Shipman was born May 29, 1925 on the family farm near Fairfax to Gus and Emma (Walth) Horst. She died February 20, 2017 at the Armour Care & Rehabilitation Center, under the care of Compassionate Hospice, at the age of 91 years.
Arline and her mother moved into town to help care for her grandmother. While living there, she learned to speak German from her grandmother. She received her education from the Fairfax School system, graduating in May of 1943. While in school, she held jobs in several places. After graduation she enrolled at Black Hills Teachers College at Spearfish, South Dakota, receiving her teaching certificate.
She taught school for 2 years. In May of 1945 she married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Shipman, and settled on a farm. She was a good farmhand, helping at haying time and many other chores. During her teaching career, and to further her education, she attended college at Springfield, South Dakota. She taught most of her 40 years in the Fairfax and Bonesteel schools. She loved teaching and her students loved her. Many to this day still inquire about her.
Arline enjoyed square dancing and the many places they traveled. She enjoyed her family.
Arline was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; her daughter, Barbara; her parents, grandparents and numerous other relatives.

Rose Irene Brandner was born April 4, 1907 in Barnum MN. Her family moved to Fallon in 1920, where she completed her education. She married Emil Brandner in 1928. The family lived in Fallon many years, where she enjoyed the many aspects of homemaking; food preparation, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. She and her husband were avid rock hounds. After her husband's death in 1974, she moved to Lewistown to be near her family.
Mrs Bandner, 88, died October 5, 1995, following a lengthy illness in Klamath Falls OR. Interment was in the Central Montana Memorial Gardens in Lewistown. Survivors include sons, Jim, Ron, and Richard; daughters, Nadean Waters, Betty Turner, Patricia Beck and Karen Marks; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Raised and attended schools in Kulm. Moved to Montana as a young man and homesteaded in the southeastern part of the state. Married Adella Brandner Dec. 9, 1923. He moved to Fairfield in 1938 and raised cattle and farmed. He moved to Great Falls about four years ago. He lived at the Cambridge Court and with a daughter for three years. He was a charter member of the Fairfield Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include two daughters, five sons, three sisters, 18 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren [survivor's names omitted]. Preceded in death by his wife, four sisters and two brothers.

She was last employed in quality control at a confection production company, and at the time of death had been a resident of Brownsburg, IN.

Theodore M. Hecker, 93, Dickinson, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at CHI St. Alexius, Dickinson. Theodore’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson, with Fr. Keith Streifel as the celebrant. Military honors will be provided by the Dickinson American Legion Post 3 Honor Guard. Interment will take place at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Visitation will be on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary and vigil at 7 p.m. with Deacon Dallas Carlson presiding.
Ted was born January 3, 1924, and grew up farming and ranching with his parents Carl and Monica (Obrigewitsch) Hecker and their large family west of Dickinson. He served honorably in the United States Army from November 14, 1945 to December 9, 1946. He left farming and lived and worked in Center, with his Texan wife Lillian, and her little dog, who preceded him in death.
He later moved to Dickinson. He had a woman friend for many years. They danced and he cared for her until his untimely fall which was the beginning of the end. He wanted to live to be 100 but after living shortly at the nursing home he decided better of it. He leaves behind two sisters, a couple old cowboy brothers, gaggles of nieces and nephews. Bless his soul
Ted is survived by his siblings, Lydia Boltz, Dickinson, Elvira (Sylvester) Schuster, Minot, Bernard Hecker, Cottonwood, Ariz., Leo Hecker, Valley City and Adam Hecker, Dickinson; and special friend, Margaret Paulson, Dickinson.

Robert A. Hooker, 78, died Dec. 31, 2006, at the Hospice House, Hutchinson.
He was born Feb. 9, 1928, in Winona, the son of Robert B. & Estella M. Thouvenell Hooker.
He was a 1946 graduate of Winona High School, a 1951 graduate of Fort Hays State University, with a degree in math and science, and had attended Wichita State University. A resident of Hutchinson since 2004, formerly of Oakley, he was a draftsman and engineer for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita before purchasing the Chevrolet-Oldsmobile Dealership in Oakley in 1962.
He belonged to First United Methodist Church, of Hutchinson and Oakley, was on the board of directors for the Farmers State Bank of Oakley for 18 years, was a member Oakley Masonic Lodge No. 253, Oakley Shriners, served on Oakley City Council, past commander of the Oakley Veterans of Foreign Wars, and was a charter member of the Oakley Trap Club. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
On Feb. 9, 1952, he married Phyllis J. Gales [nee Goetz]. She survives.
Other survivors include: three sons, Robert and wife, Taronda, Hutchinson, Breck, Hays, and Paul and wife, Leanne, Spring Hill; a sister, Mary Carlson and husband, Kendall, Assaria; and five grandchildren, Garrett, Jonathan, Sarah, Matthew and Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson, with Chaplain Frederick J. Obold presiding. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Burial will be in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum, Hutchinson. Graveside rites and honors conducted by the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124, A.F. and A.M. and the Fort Riley Honor Guard.
Memorials may be sent to Lewy Body Dementia Association, Hospice of Reno County or First United Methodist Church, Hutchinson or Oakley, in care of the funeral home, 1219 North Main, Hutchinson, KS.
