He departed this life on Saturday, January 4, 1997 at the Community Care Center in Blue Hill, Nebraska at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 16 days. Bub, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, received his formal education attending the Guide Rock schools. He lived and worked for a period of time in Oregon. He later returned to the Guide Rock community where he worked as a mason in the family business, joining his brothers. The craftmanship of the family spanned from 1905 through 1970. They skillfully created the "swirl" design and in many of the houses, buildings and offices, which they helped to construct. On May 10, 1953, Bub was united in marriage with Golda Rouse Yung at Guide Rock. They continued to make their home in the community where he also dealt in antiques and later worked as a painter. Bub was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, John, Robert, Donald, and Carl Simpson. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Golda Simpson of Guide Rock, Nebraska; daughter Joy Barta and husband Richard of Independence, Kansas; grandsons Darin S. and Travis R. Barta; step-sons Eldon Yung of Warrensburg, Missouri, and Lowell Yung of Axtell, Nebraska; step-daughter Carolyn Meistrell of Goose Creek, South Carolina; 8 step-grandchildren; 13 step-great grandchildren; a brother Clair Simpson and wife Shirley of Guide Rock; nieces; nephews, and other relatives and a host of friends. | Simpson, Harold Floyd (I106648)

Rominger (1685-18741), who married 07 Feb 1708 at Winterlengen, Germany. Elisabetha died in Germany and Hans Jerg (Georg) petitioned to emigrate to America, but it is not known if he died in Germany or in Maine. David married first in Germany in c1741 to an unknown woman. They came together to America, living in present day Maine. His first wife died there c1751. They had two known children: 1. Philip Rominger (1750-1771) 2. Jacobina Rominger (???-???) The order of birth of the children is unknown. When David's will was written in 1777 Jacobina was still living in Maine (did she ever marry?). After his first wife died, David remarried to the widow Catherina Barbara Fridrich Kubler (1713-1771) in c1752. David and his son Philip came to North Carolina in 1770, and Catherina came the following year (1771) but she and her step-son Philip died a day apart in Feb 1771. Eva was first married to William Snow (1789-???) on 17 Jan 1813 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina by whom she had five? children. Eva ended up moving to Bartholomew County, Indiana with some of her children. It is not known when she died or where she is buried. Drusilla married Spruce McKaughan Peddycord (descendants mainly spell the name Peddiord or Petticord) (1824-1881) on 06 Jul 1848 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Drusilla and Spruce were the parents of six known children, all sons. In 1880 the parents and their two youngest children (Spruce a miller) were living at Little Yadkin Township, Yadkin County, North Carolina. Some records show Spruce died in Indiana.
