His exact grave hasn't been located yet. It is very near here, however. ************************************************************ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ★ ┊ ┊ ☆ ┊ ★ ☆ WAR OF 1812 SERVICE. Son of Silas Glover Paschal & Lena Marie Taylor. Unknown Paschal (1838-?) *Silas B. & Francis S. Brown the same person? ************************************************************ This combined family is quite the story. John was married twice, and his second wife had been married before, and HER first husband had been married before. From these 5 individuals, combined a household of 24 children!!!! (probably never all at the same time). The real kicker, for me at least, is that none of the spouses are buried with any of the other spouses. :( Summary: 1. Hiram Webb married Unknown, 1813 in NC. Two children. She died 1817 & is buried in Lincoln Co., TN. 2. Hiram married Mary Rebecca Blalock, 1818 in Lincoln Co., TN. 10 children. He died 1838 & is buried in Itawamba Co., MS. 3. At the same time - John Hamilton Paschal married Sarah Jane Brown 1812 in Smith Co., TN. 12 children. She died 1845 & is buried in Sumter Co., AL. 4. John Hamilton Paschal married Mary Rebecca Blalock Webb 1846 in Itawamba Co., MS. They didn't have any children, but with about 20 children to worry about at any given time they probably didn't want anymore! 5. John died 1871 & is buried unknown in Lamar Co., AL. 6. Mary died 1875 & is supposedly buried in Itawamba Co., MS, a few miles from her first husband. I wonder why in the world they didn't bury John & Mary with Hiram & two of Hiram & Mary's sons in the Clover Ridge Cemetery. It wasn't like it was really far away. Also: Pascal/Paschall http://tharpgenealogy.com/getperson.php?personID=I0297&tree=THARP John H Paschal (born ca. 1792 in North Carolina) married Sarah in Smith County, Tennessee in 1812. He was a volunteer in Capt. Bethel Allen's 1st Regiment in the War of 1812. By 1819, he was living on his 100 acres on the south side of the Cumberland River on the Rawls Creek in Smith County. John's name has been found on the records of Smith County from 1816 through 1839. In 1817, John H was a surety on the marriage bond of Wm Altman and Susannah R Mitchell at Lebanon in Wilson County, Tennessee. But in 1839, the administrator of John Paschal's estate (not John H) stated on his report that John H was not a resident of Tennessee at that time. On the 1840 Census, John H and wife are listed with three boys and three girls in Sumter County, Alabama. Sarah's date and place of death are not known but on 4 February 1846, John H married Mary Webb in Itawamba County, Mississippi. John H bought and sold land in Itawamba County from 1846 to 1853. In 1850 and 1855 he filed for bounty land. In 1855, he was a resident of Marion County, Alabama. And in 1871 he filed for a pension, giving Detroit, Sanford County (now Lamar County), Alabama, as his domicile and Pikeville, Marion County, Alabama as his post office. John H. and Sarah had ten or eleven children but only three are positively identified. History of Lamar Co., AL (wikipedia): Jones County was established on February 4, 1867, with land taken from the southern part of Marion County and the western part of Fayette County, and was named for E. P. Jones of Fayette County, with its county seat at Vernon. It was abolished on November 3, 1867. On October 8, 1868, the area was again organized into a county, but as another county had been recently named "Jones", the new county was named Sanford, in honor of H. C. Sanford of Cherokee County. On February 8, 1877, the county was renamed Lamar in honor of Senator L.Q.C. Lamar of Mississippi. | Paschal, John Hamilton Sr. (I107186)
