Leola Catherine Weimer was born April 5, 1909, on a farm near Stockham, NE, and departed this life in Henderson, NE, on Saturday, Oct 6, at the age of 70 years. On July 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Clyde L. Weimer. She was a retired teacher having taught in rural schools near Stockham several years in Aurora and the remaining years in the Harvard Public Schools for a total of 43 years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Hastings, and a member of the Evangelical Free Church Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother. She is survived by her husband, Clyde; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Hamburger of Harvard and Mrs. Wilma Taylor of Aurora and a host of other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held at 10 am Tuesday, Oct 9, at the Alberding Funeral Chapel in Harvard with the Rev. Eugene Anderson officiating. Mr. Glenn Hamburger, soloist, sang "In the Garden" and "Ivory Palaces" accompanied by Mrs. Frances Brenneman organist. Pallbearers were Walter Hamburger, Donald & Gerald Eller, Frank Bieck, Jim Taylor and Jerry Oates. Interment was in the Harvard Cemetery. (obit)
