Amanda Anna Steinhoff, 91, Countryside Retirement Home, died Monday, May 11, 1992, at the nursing home after a brief illness.
Services will be at 7:30 p.m. today at Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Laurice Streyffeler of Wesley United Methodist Church officiating. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 p.m. today until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Steinhoff, the former Amanda A. Weber, was born Feb. 16, 1901, in Hornick, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Christina A. (Rose) Weber. She married Casper Steinhoff Feb. 16, 1920, in Hornick. The couple farmed in the Smithland, Iowa, area for many years. He died Dec. 23, 1972. She moved to Sioux City in 1985.
Mrs. Steinhoff was a member of the German City Church of Holly Springs, Iowa.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Gale C. and La Jean Steinhoff of Manilla, Iowa; two daughters, Leah Shearon of Sioux City and Wilma Joy Archer of Arroyo Grande, Calif.; a brother, Oliver, and his wife, Cora Weber, of Hornick, Iowa; three sisters, Rosena Bowman of Sioux City, Mary Hanner of Sergeant Bluff, and Lorena Weimer of Lemon Grove, Calif.; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Everett, Clarence and Wilmer Weber; and two sisters, Lottie Lee and Hulda Weber.
