Frances, 99, of Kalamazoo, Michigan and formerly of Alma passed away March 1, 2015, in the Springs at the Fountains of Bronson Place. She was born to Floyd and Lavilla (Church) Nelson.
She graduated from Alma High School, with the class of 1932. She married her high school sweetheart, Melvin E. Fuller (Deceased in 1988) on October 17, 1936.
Frances was active in the Methodist Church in Alma and later in Fraser, Michigan and Bradenton, Florida. She loved music and sang in the church choir and joined a choir that preformed across the country. She continued her passion for singing as one women traveling show taking her music to nursing homes in the Bradenton area.
Wishing to be closer to her family she moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1995 where she resided at the Fountains, a senior citizens residence.
Frances is survived by her son, Gary M. Fuller and his wife Sue Ann, and her daughter, Kathi A. Fuller. Along with her children she is survived by five grandchildren. Gary’s children, Tamera S. Boehler, Katrina M. Riebschleger, Kevin G. Fuller, all of Saginaw; and Kathi’s children, Jennifer L. Nitz and Peter C. Nitz of Kalamazoo. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren, Douglas A. Boehler, Kayla I. Williams, Bradley S. Boehler, Janelle L. Boehler, Emily J. Riebschleger, Matthew R. Riebschleger, Alyson S. Fuller, Nathan G. Fuller, and Olivia K. Nitz. Frances also has two great-great grandsons, Conner and Carson Beohler.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a sister Harriet Taber and two brothers Russell and Wayne Nelson.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home, Alma with Pastor Debbie Thomas of the Alma United Methodist Church officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alma High School Athletic Hall of Fame Scholarship Fund, of which Melvin is an inductee.
