      George A. Dahm, 76, of Woodstock, died Monday, July 18, 2005, at Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock.
      He was born April 27, 1929, in Lynn Township, Wis., to Charles and Frances Dahm. He married Jane Kennedy on Aug. 5, 1951, in Woodstock.
      He attended Woodstock High School and graduated from Crystal Lake Central. He was a veteran, having served during the Korean War.
      Over the span of his career, he worked for Harry Benoy Carpentry, and Belcher and Son Flooring, but foremost he was a self-employed farmer until the time of his death.
      He was a member of the Woodstock School District 10 Board, where he served as treasurer. He was president of the Soil and Water Conservation District; served on the Woodstock Little League Board, also coaching and managing equipment; and served as the McHenry County Fair superintendent.
      He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Woodstock, where he served as a trustee and elder. He enjoyed collecting antiques and attending all family gatherings.
      Survivors include his wife; a son, Christopher (Ellen) Dahm of Wonder Lake; three daughters, Angela (Charles) Boe of Woodstock, Pamela (John) Moorhouse of Woodstock, and Melinda (Thomas) Zingrone of Woodstock; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer, Philip and Bryan Dahm, Jacquelyn Boe, Erin, Ben and Patrick Moorhouse, and Adam, Tobia and Joseph Zingrone; and a sister, Mildred Johnson of Crystal Lake.
      He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Dahm.
      The visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The Rev. Paul Nelson will officiate. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.
