Amelia Levi, 94, Eureka, S.D., died Aug. 28, 1999, in a Eureka health care center. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at United Church of Christ, Eureka, with the Rev. Diane Rood-Kiesz officiating. Burial will be in Greenway Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be her grandsons, Jerry Levi, Zeeland, Randy Levi, Hettinger, David Levi and Grant Levi, both of Bismarck, Kevin Levi and Jake Levi, both of Mandan, Scott Erdmann and Ryan Erdmann, both of Barnesville, Minn., and Kelly Erdmann, Moorhead, Minn. Honorary casketbearers will be RaNell Brown and Susan Duval, both of Barnesville, and Darlene Katy, Eureka.
Amelia Boschee, the daughter of Adolph and Christina (Krein) Boschee was born March 31, 1905, at Zeeland. She was baptized in her parents' home and confirmed in the Zeeland Reformed Church. She attended Zeeland Public School. For two years she was employed as a clerk at the Farmers Store in Zeeland.
She was united in marriage to Jacob M. Levi on Nov. 9, 1922, at Aberdeen, S.D. They lived in Greenway, S.D., for several years; then they moved to a farm northeast of Greenway. In 1936, they moved into Zeeland. Her husband died in 1960. Amelia continued to make Zeeland her home until 1980 when she moved into the Sunrise Apartments in Eureka. She entered the Eureka Health Care Center on Sept. 6, 1995.
Amelia enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She taught her skills of these crafts to many others. She also enjoyed being outdoors in her garden.
She was a member of Peace Congregational United Church of Christ, Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday school in Greenway until 1966. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. She then became a member of the Zeeland Reformed Church until moving to Eureka, when she joined St. Paul's United Church of Christ and Women's Fellowship. She was a member of the Zeeland Homemakers Club for 52 years and a 4-H leader for many years. She was named in the Who's Who of North Dakota in 1958.
She is survived by two daughters, LaVerne Stuckle, Eureka, and Judith Ann Erdmann, Barnesville, Minn.; one daughter-in-law, Bernese Levi, Zeeland; five brothers, Arthur (Phyl) Boschee, Pequot Lakes, Minn., Eugene Boschee, Minneapolis, Thomas (Idella) Boschee, and Milbert (Arlene) Boschee, both of Zeeland, and Ervin (Viola) Boschee, Sacramento, Calif.; 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son; one infant son and infant daughter; and three brothers and one sister. (Carlsen Funeral Home, Eureka)
