    Centenarian, Edna Schwab, 104, of York, died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at York. Edna was born in Imperial on June 14, 1907, the first child of Albert and Alvina (Hoffman) Hust.
    Edna was baptized Nov. 19, 1907. When Edna was 11, her parents moved the family back to Sutton, the birthplace of both parents. They joined the Hope Reform Church in Sutton. Edna was confirmed and joined the church's membership at age 14.
    Edna attended the rural school in District 66 and Farmers Valley Mill. She graduated from Sutton High School in 1926. They were the first Sutton class to wear caps and gowns.
    Edna married Benjamin Carl Schwab on Aug. 22, 1926. The couple's first home was on land they farmed south of Sutton, which they rented from Ben's father. They became the parents of three daughters. In 1942, they moved into Sutton, where Ben was employed in a grocery store.
    In 1947, Ben, Edna and their daughters moved to York. Ben worked at the Holcomb Hatchery for 36 years, and Edna was hired at Brown-McDonald Department Store before the chain of department stores became J. M. McDonald Deportment Stores with headquarters in Holdrege and Hastings, NE.
    Edna worked there for five years before joining the Bell Clinic as one of five women who worked alongside the doctors, doing everything from sterilizing equipment to performing laboratory tests.
    Edna greatly enjoyed this work, which she did for 10 years before taking time off to help care for her 10-year-old grandson, Bobby Townsend.
    After he died of cancer, Edna worked for two years at York General Hospital, then seven years at the King's Court Ladies Apparel. Edna retired at age 76.
    Ben and Edna joined East Ave United Brethren Church in York, where Edna taught Sunday school for 19 years and received her 50-year member pin. Edna joined First United Church when East Avenue Church closed.
    Edna was also a member of Hope Circle, the Mending Club and the York General Hospital Auxiliary and was a blood bank volunteer. She and Ben had fond memories of their trips to Nova Scotia and Hawaii.
    Edna is survived by: daughters, Delores Townsend and LaVon Rasmussen of York; grandchildren, Barbara Ann Townsend and Linda (Rasmussen) Weber of Lincoln; Joanne (Urbach) Moody and husband Neville of Livermore, Calif.; Susan Urbach of Norman, Okla.; Steven Morris Townsend of Hong Kong; and Scott Rasmussen and wife Roxane of Lincoln; Great-grandchildren are Jason Light and wife, Christy, of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Tara (Weber) Kawar and husband Mark of Falls Church, Va.; Jennifer Light of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Megan Weber of Lincoln; Tanya (Rasmussen) Rezac and husband, Brian, of Kansas City, Kan.; and Miranda Rasmussen of Lincoln; Great-great-grandchildren are Autumn Renee Light of White Bear Lake, Minn.; Hudson Brian Rezac and Cooper Scott Rezac of Kansas City, Kan. and Stella Clare Kawar of Falls Church, Va.
    Preceding her in death were her husband, Ben; daughter, Mary Urbach of Sioux City, Iowa; parents; brother, Rufus Hust and sister, Esther McDonald, both of Sutton; sons-in-law, Loren Townsend, Jim Urbach and Richard Rasmussen; and grandson, Robert Stuart Townsend.
    Burial was in the York Greenwood Cemetery, York, NE.

    SIOUX CITY -- Mary Jane Urbach, 82, of Sioux City died Monday, March 8, 2010, at a Sioux City hospital.
    Services will be 2 p.m. today at Church of All Nations, with the Rev Martha Anderson and the Rev Fred Pilecki officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul, Minn., next to her husband, James. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on today. Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff is in charge of arrangements.
    Mary Jane was born April 8, 1927, in Sutton, Neb., to Benjamin C. and Edna (Hust) Schwab. She graduated from Sutton High School.
    She married James F. Urbach on June 7, 1946, in Sutton. They lived in York, Neb., from 1946 to 1959, when they moved to Worthington, Minn. In 1964, they moved to Fergus Falls, Minn., where they lived until moving to Sioux City in 1976.
    Mary was active in the family hatchery business in York, Neb., and was a real estate agent in Fergus Falls, Minn. From 1977 to 1997, she was in sales at Goodwill Industries. She also was the ambassador coordinator. Following her time at Goodwill, she was a volunteer coordinator for Senior Helpmate.
    She was active in Quota Club in Fergus Falls, Kiwanis Club, Goodwill Auxiliary and Joy Church Circle in Sioux City. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, currently Church of All Nations. She had served as a Sunday School teacher, a youth leader and church circle.
    Mary is survived by her mother, Edna Schwab of York, Neb.; and two daughters, JoAnne Urbach Moody and her husband, Dr. Neville Moody of Livermore, Calif., and Susan Urbach of Norman, Okla.; and her sisters, Delores Townsend of York and LaVon Rasmussen also of York.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, James Urbach who died Aug. 2, 2005; and her father, Ben Schwab who died April 20, 1986.
    Memorials may be directed to Goodwill Industries.

    Lincoln, NE, resident James A. Hust, 70, passed away in his home on August 13, 2015, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Sutton, NE, to Rufus E. and Dorothy L. (Wedeking) Hust on July 19, 1945. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1963 and attended the University of Nebraska- Lincoln. On May 27, 1967, he was united in marriage to Patricia Marie Dvorak in Lincoln, NE. Two daughters were born of this union: Teresa Jo and Jennifer Lynne. The family moved several times: Grand Island, NE; Marion, IA; DeWitt, IA; and Brainard, NE; before moving back to Sutton in 1983, to raise their children in Jim's hometown. He was actively involved in coaching youth basketball, assisting with -H horse projects and was on the Sutton school board for many years. Jim and Patti moved to Lincoln in 1992, where he became an active member of Cathedral of the Risen Christ parish, serving as Acolyte, Extraordinary Minister, Light of the World Community, and the Knights of Columbus. Jim was an avid golfer, playing on two or thr e leagues most years; a homebrewer for over 20 years; and a lifelong Nebraska Football fan with season tickets beginning in 1963. Jim had a lifelong career as an insurance claims adjuster, retiring in 2012 from Battle Creek Mutual Insurance Company. He also worked part-time for the Nebraska Safety Council for 20 years as a Safety Training Option Program instructor and teen driving instructor. Jim and Patti loved to travel and celebrated retirement with international trips. At home, Jim loved tospend time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Survivors include his loving wife, Patti of Lincoln; daughters, Tracy (Jake) McHugh of Lincoln and Jeni (Tabatha) Durfey of Council Bluffs, IA. Grandchildren, Jay Richardson of Lincoln and Creighton Durfey and Callie Durfey of Council Bluffs, IA. Step-grandchildren include Karisa Richardson of Waverly, Charlene (Hunter) Greene of orth Platte, Tucker McHugh ofMalcolm and Landyn McHugh of Lincoln; sister, Mary Lou Moore of Bellevue; brother and sisterin- law, Dale and Pat Dvorak of Valparaiso; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Woodrow and Evelyn Dvorak, sister, Reva Jean Hust Stack, nephews, Bruce and Jerry Moore, brothers-in-law, Bill Stack, Don Moore and Gale Dvorak. Mass of Christian Burial was at 10 a.m., Monday, August 17, 2015, at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd., Lincoln. Rosary: August 16, 2015, at 7 p.m., at Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral home, 4040 A. Street, Lincoln. Inurnment was at 3 p.m., Monday in Calvary Cemetery in Sutton.
