Roberta T. Leiker, 86, Hays, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter.
She was born April 12, 1920, in Hyacinth to Michael Valentine and Anna (Rohleder) Weigel.
She married Aegidius Leiker on Sept. 28, 1937, in Hays. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 2006.
She was a nurse's aide, a cook, and retired from J.C. Penney's. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Hays.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Leiker and wife, Rosie, Hutchinson, and Tony Leiker and wife, Brenda, Hays; four daughters, Doris Franch and husband, Roy, Kingman, Ariz., Barbara Tinkler and husband, Jim, San Antonio, Roberta Zeman and husband, Gene, WaKeeney, and Mary Tuttle and her friend, Terry Cox, Park; a brother, Elmer Weigel, Hays; two sisters, Georgine Keberlein, Hays, and Elaine Martin, Independence, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael; a grandson, Craig Leiker; a brother, Julius Weigel; three sisters, Stavana Depperschmidt, Evelyn Pease and Mary Ann Killian.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. Saturday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine. A VFW Auxiliary rosary will be at 5:30 p.m., a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 6 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 6:30 p.m., all Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Masses in care of the funeral home.

Edward Lee Leiker, 77, passed away peacefully on Nov. 21, 2015, at Hospice House, Hutchinson, with his family at his side. He was born Sept. 19, 1938, in Hays, to Aegedius and Roberta (Weigel) Leiker.
On Aug. 27, 1960, he married Rosie Schmidtberger at St. Fedilis Church in Victoria. She survives. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived for faith, family and country.
He proudly served our country, retiring as Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force in 1996. He was a faithful servant to St. Teresa’s parish for over 40 years. A member of the Knights of Columbus Council #612, and Fr. David H. Cushing 4th Degree Assembly, The Forever Jayhawks Kansas Air Guard retired group, and thoroughly enjoyed his morning and afternoon coffee time with friends.
Other survivors include: children, Jayne Leiker of McPherson, Daniel Leiker and wife Tammy of Urbana, Ohio, Steven Leiker and wife Gina of Lincoln, Neb., Amy Spitler and husband Rick of Hutchinson, Julie Moore and husband Brian of Hutchinson; siblings, Doris French of Kingman, Ariz., Barbara Tinkler of San Antonio, Texas, Roberta Zeman of WaKeeney, Tony Leiker of Hays, Mary Tuttle of Park; and a loving grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Edward was preceded in death by his son, Craig Leiker; his parents; and brother, Michael Leiker.
Family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m. and Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church, Hutchinson. Dinner for family and friends will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015, at St. Teresa’s gymnasium and Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in the church, with the Father Michael J. Maybrier and Father Stuart Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military graveside honors being conducted by the 184th ARG Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Michael V. Leiker, 50, Topeka, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, in Topeka. The cause of death hasn't been determined.
He was born March 28, 1952, in Hays, the son of Aegidius and Roberta A. Weigel Leiker.
He attended Hays High School and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Leiker was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Grinnell.
Survivors include his companion, Tammy Holcomb, Topeka; his parents, Hays; two brothers, Edward L. Leiker, Hutchinson, and Anthony J. Leiker, Hays; and four sisters, Doris Franch, Kingman, Ariz., Barbara Tinkler, San Antonio, Roberta Zeman, Clay Center, and Mary Tuttle, Park.
Services will be announced by Davidson Funeral Home. Cremation is planned. Inurnment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Hays.
